This compact five-bedroom home sits on a south facing beachfront parcel in an area known simply as Greenbank on Puget Sound’s Whidbey Island. It enjoys sweeping views of Mt. Rainier and the Cascade Mountains. The gabled roof line, grey-stained shingles, white trim, and six over one window pattern are all elements we associate with the East Coast’s American Shingle Style. Although not native to the Pacific Northwest, it makes a good neighbor amongst the other nearby weathered clapboard homes.
