project briefs | salmon bay landing

As the first building in the Salmon Bay Center, Salmon Bay Landing is completely “out of the dirt,” and the pace of construction is increasing rapidly. The second-floor, post-tensioned slab was successfully poured during a fortunate break in Seattle’s unpredictable spring weather. From here, the views are spectacular over the ship canal and the neighborhood to the south.

Schuchart Construction is projecting the final slab will be poured in late May, and the roof’s steel construction will start shortly after. The concrete finish has turned out beautifully: even the structural engineer says the slabs are as nice as any he has seen.

Our luxury marina neighbors, the Salmon Bay Marine Center, are finishing Phase One of their construction on two new buildings and handsome new docks. All in all, the entire site is shaping up, and the Salmon Bay Landing project is coming into focus.
